Luxury Living in the Caribbean

More Than Just Sun, Sea and Sand

When average folks think of the Caribbean, visions are conjured up in their head of native island folks walking along side the beaches in Bermuda shorts.  Or perhaps the locals are under a palm tree, sheltering the sunny weather while sipping on a coconut.  Maybe that is what it was like 4 decades ago.  Primarily a location to escape harsh weather conditions, many hoteliers have begun to recognized the appeal of the natural beauty of the islands and have been successful in helping tourists worldwide discover this haven of tranquil existence and also in providing the necessary amenities for them to enjoy it in first rate comfort. The untarnished scenery and the proliferation of fine hotels have them coming back for more, not just at wintertime, but also during all the months of the year.

However, there is much more to the Caribbean than just sun, sea and sand. It has now become synonymous with affluent living. It is also the home to some of the most luxurious lifestyle resorts in the world. Eco-tourism, music festivals, water sports, art, historic tours, designer shopping and culinary delights are a few reason to keep visitors entertained.

The French island of St Barts is considered a high end and exclusive tropical paradise.  If you are enjoying a relaxing vacation there, don’t be surprised to find yourself rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous. Some arrive by plane while others dock their yachts on the shores. Beyonce, Mick Jagger, Gwen Stafani, Paris Hilton, Sean Combs, Ivanka Trump and Mariah Carey are some of the few that have sampled the blissful delights that the island has to offer. They are attracted to the glamour and glitz that is ever present in the electrifying atmosphere. Visitors to St Barts are treated to the richness of island living.  It is known for its lavish villas, which offer boundless privacy and ultra modern facilities, making it the perfect home away from home for the world’s top class jetsetters.

Another popular celebrity hideaway is Anguilla. On this small English-speaking island, the locals are extremely hospitable and the cuisine is superbly sophisticated. Diving, snorkeling and sailing by day and a sip of Dom Perignon under the starry moonlight would have any visitor feeling like true royalty.  Nature lovers can enjoy a more intimate familiarity with the landscape of the island by engaging in the Photography Adventure and Bird Watching Tours.  This exhilarating experience is certainly something that could prove to be the highlight of the entire vacation.  If spending money is not a grand issue for you, you can make Anguilla your personal romping ground. Resorts offer rentals of exclusive waterfront villas where, you would have private and uninterrupted access to the scenery around you. You can sink your toes into to the golden sand and sparkling blue waters of the island’s pristine beaches.  It is not impossible to live it up like a rock star in the Caribbean. There is no shortage of nightlife, fun activities, good food and top-of-the-line accommodation. Whether as a vacation destination or as a location to settle down in, the bewitching effects of the islands would keep you intrigued and enchanted for years to come.
